Eunan O’Kane joined Leeds United from Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has explained to The Daily Echo why he decided to let Eunan O’Kane leave for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
O’Kane joined Championship club Leeds from Premier League outfit Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
Howe has explained his decision to allow the Republic of Ireland international midfielder to leave the Cherries.
The Bournemouth manager has spoken highly of the 26-year-old former Torquay United midfielder.

“Really, the decision has been made for the benefit of Eunan’s career,” Howe told The Daily Echo. “If we can’t give him that window to play, we need to make sure his career doesn’t stagnate.
“I’m sorry to see any player go. Eunan has been a massive part of our recent success. He has always shown a great attitude and been a great team player.
“He’s never moaned or been a disruptive influence when he has been out of the team.”

O’Kane is a good midfielder and has experience of playing in the Championship.
The Republic of Ireland international featured in 37 Championship matches for the Cherries during the 2013-14 season.
In 2014-15, O’Kane made 11 league appearances for Bournemouth, but last season, the 26-year-old was able to play only 16 times in the Premier League.
Leeds are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this campaign, and the former Coleraine midfielder could prove to be an important player for Garry Monk’s side as the season progresses.
The West Yorkshire outfit will return to action next weekend when they take on Huddersfield Town at Elland Road in the Championship.
