Wolverhampton Wanderers have been heavily linked with a move for the Bournemouth striker.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, and provided an update on the future of Benik Afobe, who has been heavily linked with a return to Wolves before the transfer window slams shut, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The 24-year-old left Molineux for Bournemouth in January 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million, but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Vitality Stadium, making just 31 Premier League starts in two years.

According to the Express & Star, the Black Country outfit made a loan bid for Afobe yesterday, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster his attacking ranks at Molineux before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
Howe, though, insisted that the Cherries have received no formal approaches for any of their players, let alone Afobe, when speaking to reporters, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“We’ve had no bids. No developments at all. As I say we’ve had no bids for any of our players. Benik continues to train with the squad and be part of a future.”
Despite Howe’s comments on Afobe, things can change quickly in football, and with around 36 hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, it will be interesting to see if Bournemouth’s stance changes, if Wolves do in fact come in with a concrete offer for the 24-year-old.
