The Premier League club have reportedly been looking at McGregor for months, with Celtic claimed to be asking £10 million for the 25-year-old central midfielder.
Bournemouth manager Howe has suggested that he is looking to add to his squad in the January transfer window.
Howe told The Daily Echo: “We are having a look but there is no guarantee that we are going to find better than we have.”

Worry for Celtic
McGregor is an important player for Celtic and has been playing brilliantly for the Hoops this season.
While Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers may not be willing to sell the 25-year-old central midfielder in the January transfer window, a big-money offer could be tough for the Hoops to turn down.
Howe’s revelation that he is looking at making signings in the January transfer window is potentially worrying for Celtic.
