Eddie Gray has told Leeds United’s official website that Marcelo Bielsa should consider making two changes to his side to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

The Whites returned to the top of the table on Wednesday night with a comfortable 2-0 win over Ipswich Town, who remain at the foot of the Championship table. Paul Hurst has since been sacked.

Bielsa will be forced to make one change to the side after Gaetano Berardi suffered a hamstring injury on Wednesday, being substituted in just the 27th minute. Barry Douglas, Patrick Bamford and Izzy Brown remain sidelined.

Leeds legend Gray believes two of the Whites’ substitutes on Wednesday evening should be considered for a start, in the form of Tom Pearce and Adam Forshaw – replacing winger Jack Harrison and 27-year-old Samu Saiz.

“I think there’s a few things Bielsa could do,” Gray said. “Gjanni Alioski and Jack Harrison can switch, and the young lad [Tom Pearce] can play [at left-back]. He impressed me when he came on.

“Take Saiz off, bring Forshaw on who I though played well when he came on. He got forward well. It will be interesting.”

Alioski played at left-back on Wednesday night and impressed, until Tom Pearce came on in the second half allowing the Macedonia international to push forward.

Saiz was not his normal, energetic self against the Tractor Boys, and although he has impressed this season, he is yet to score in 14 Championship outings and is certainly being outshone by partner Matuesz Klich.

Nottingham Forest sit in sixth place after an excellent 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers away from home in the week, and they sit only two points behind Leeds.
