Eddie Gray has told LUTV that he is predicting Leeds to edge their Championship clash with Sheffield United on Friday night, with the Whites coming out on top with a 3-2 win.

The clash at Elland Road pits fourth against third in the second tier after their respective flying starts to the campaign. Leeds go into the game off the back of an impressive win over Bristol City last weekend.

Thomas Christiansen, Manager of Leeds United during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Before the game, the Robins were unbeaten at Ashton Gate this term, while the Whites had lost their previous three in the league. However, Thomas Christiansen’s men stormed to an impressive 3-0 win to put their previous rut behind them.

Meanwhile, the Blades have won seven of their last nine league games and could go top if they manage to win at Leeds. But Gray is predicting that the Whites will edge a five-goal thriller on Friday night.

Chris Wilder, the Sheffield United manager, looks on during the pre season friendly match between Sheffield United and Stoke City at Bramall Lane on July 25, 2017 in Sheffield, England.

“There could be a few cards, but I hope they’re not on our side,” he told LUTV.

“Blood and thunder game. I think they’ll be goals in the game, because they are an attacking side, Sheffield United. I’m going for a 3-2 victory for us.”

With the Blades winning three and losing three of their six away games so far this term, it is not surprising that Gray is expecting an open game with plenty of goals.

But with Sheffield United in brilliant form, Christiansen will be reminding his players that anything less than the level they reached in their clash with Bristol City will not be good enough if Leeds hope to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since early September.
