Leeds United host Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
Eddie Gray has told LUTV that he expects Leeds United to beat Newcastle United on Saturday.
Newcastle ride the crest of a wave into this weekend’s sold-out clash at Elland Road after winning their last seven Championship games to sit top of the division.
But Leeds are a bang-in-form side as well, and a 3-2 win at Norwich City last time out saw Garry Monk’s troops – who won one of their first six league outings – move into the playoff places.

By virtue of their quality, Newcastle might be narrow favourites to extend their seven-match winning streak, but Gray feels that the Whites, unbeaten in seven home games, have the momentum to topple the high-flying Magpies on Saturday afternoon.
He told LUTV: “The good thing about the next game is that we’re playing the team who are top of the division. In general, everyone will be expecting Newcastle to win.
“I don’t expect Newcastle will win the game. I think we’ll win the game. I think we’ve got the momentum, and we’ll have the crowd.”

It could well be a cracker at Elland Road, which will be sold out for the first time in six years. That fact alone should illustrate that Monk has restored an element of excitement regarding Leeds and few would back against his side doing the business yet again on Saturday.
Should they win, it would represent a huge statement from the Whites, given Newcastle’s form, and it might well make it easier to recruit players in January if Monk’s targets know that they could be playing Premier League football next season.
