Saiz scored for Leeds as Marcelo Bielsa’s side beat Bolton.

Eddie Gray has told Leeds United’s official website that he has been impressed by playmaker Samu Saiz’s start to the 2018-19 campaign, after he scored against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old’s incisive running saw Leeds take the lead as he picked the ball up in midfield before Patrick Bamford nutmegged a Bolton defender and slotted home from 18 yards to score his first of the season.
But then it was Saiz’s turn to find the back of the net and open his account, after Lewis Baker broke away from the corner with a powerful run. He found Saiz, who wriggled past a number of challenges before finishing superbly.
Leeds held onto a 2-1 win to progress into the second round of the cup, and Leeds legend Gray stated how impressed he had been with Saiz’s start to the season under new manager Marcelo Bielsa.
“Saiz showed a lot of composure to score, but you expect that from Saiz, he has started the season very well,” Gray said. ” Saiz was a stand-out performer for me, he was good, especially in the first half.”
The Spanish playmaker joined Leeds last season and quickly became a fan favourite, scoring nine goals and creating eight in 37 games. However, he has become renowned for his ill-discipline.

He starred against both Stoke and Derby in a slightly new position under Bielsa, which sees him operate in the middle of the park with plenty of freedom when Leeds have possession – and it is benefiting the former Atletico Madrid ace.
Leeds are next in action against Rotherham and Saiz is expected to start his fourth game in a row under Bielsa, who wil be expected to mastermind a fourth consecutive win at Elland Road.
