Leeds United are set to take on Ipswich Town in Championship action tomorrow.

Leeds Manager Eddie Gray looks dejected during the FA Barclaycard Premiership match between Arsenal and Leeds United at Highbury on April 16, 2004 in London.

Eddie Gray has told LUTV that he believes Ipswich Town could try and shock Leeds United at the weekend.

Leeds are set to take on Ipswich tomorrow, and it is expected that Thomas Christiansen’s side will be playing on the front foot for much of the contest.

Mick McCarthy often sets up his Ipswich team to defend deep when on their travels, and ensures that men are kept behind the ball.

However, Gray feels that Ipswich may attempt to take the game to Leeds at Elland Road – as they will not want the crowd becoming too involved.

“I think Mick McCarthy will think ‘I can’t let this team get on top of us, the crowd will be right behind them’. They might come out and try and shock us and have a go at us,” Gray said.

“If they come and do that it might suit us, because it makes us open. We have the players who can hit teams on the break quickly.”

Leeds currently sit at the top of the Championship table, after making a brilliant start to the campaign.

The Whites also head into their match against Ipswich with momentum on their side, after knocking out Premier League opposition, Burnley, in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Ipswich have also made a positive start to the new campaign, but their form has dipped more recently.

The Tractor Boys have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions, which leaves them sitting in fifth place.

If Leeds are able to beat Ipswich they could extend their lead at the top of the table to three points.
