Leeds produced an excellent comeback to draw 2-2 against Bristol City on Sunday.

Former Leeds player Eddie Gray waves to the fans during The Emirates FA Cup Third Round match between Newport County and Leeds United at Rodney Parade on January 7, 2018 in Newport, Wales.

Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has told the club’s official website that the Yorkshire giants still have a chance of achieving a place in the Championship play-offs, if they win every single remaining home match.

Leeds produced a marvellous comeback to earn Paul Heckingbottom’s first point as manager of the Whites against Bristol City on Sunday, earning a 2-2 draw at Elland Road against Lee Johnson’s side.

However, following an impressive start to the campaign under Thomas Christiansen, Leeds look to have run out of steam and now sit in 11th place in the Championship table – eight points behind sixth-placed Bristol City.

Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom during The Emirates FA Cup Third Round match between Millwall and Barnsley at The Den on January 6, 2018 in London, England.

Gray, who both played and managed Leeds, reckons Heckingbottom’s men cannot afford to drop a single point at home from now until the end of the season if they are to finish in the top six come May, but reckons it is still possible.

“If you’re going to be in the top six, you’ve got to be winning your home games,” Gray said. “That’s something that Paul will be trying to emphasise to his players. We cannot afford to drop any more points at home – if we’re going to be in top six.

“A big ask, but while it is still possible, you keep going.”

Pierre-Michel Lasogga of Leeds United celebrates after scoring during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Millwall at Elland Road on January 20, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Famara Diedhiou and Bobby Reid put the Robins 2-0 to the good inside the first 20 minutes, with Leeds’ defence making a catalogue of mistakes. However, the Whites produced an excellent comeback that saw them almost snatch three points.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga continued his return to form by finishing Pablo Hernandez’s cross, before the Spaniard created a second for Kemar Roofe who slid in at the back post to restore parity.

Lasogga almost headed Leeds into the led in injury time, cannoning an effort against the crossbar. Heckingbottom will be hoping it will be third time lucky against Derby on Wednesday night.
