Eddie Gray has told LUTV that Leeds United fans can get frustrated with Pablo Hernandez, but says that the summer signing is bound to make more mistakes given his role on the pitch.
The Spanish playmaker joined Leeds on a six-month loan from Qatar-based outfit Al-Arabi.
And the 31-year-old has impressed for the most part, scoring twice and setting up two goals in 12 Championship starts under his former Swansea team-mate Garry Monk so far.
“He is a playmaker; he is a man who can make things happen,” Gray told LUTV.
“Sometimes I think the fans get a little bit frustrated with him, when they see him giving the ball away, but people have got to remember that he is on the ball that much and that he is trying things.
“It is always easier to destroy than create; every time he gets the ball, he is trying to create something.”
Mistakes or not, Hernandez is a big player for Leeds and they will need him at his best next Saturday when top-of-the-table Newcastle United visit Elland Road.
Monk’s side have won their last four games in all competitions, sitting sixth in the Championship table.
