Leeds United are short of options in attack ahead of the match against Millwall.
Eddie Gray insists that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa must avoid using Samuel Saiz as his centre-forward on Saturday for the trip to Millwall.
The Whites have a striker crisis going into the Championship fixture, as both senior options Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford are unavailable through injury.
Tyler Roberts seems the most suited replacement to fill the number nine role, but attacking midfielder Saiz has been used at the point of attack in the past.
Leeds legend Gray believes that Spanish playmaker Saiz is much more effective behind the striker and doesn’t like the thought of him featuring as the centre-forward against a physical Millwall side.
“I know he’s lead the line before, but I wouldn’t like him to lead the line at Millwall. I prefer him playing off somebody,” Gray told LUTV.
Leeds will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the league season at the weekend, as they return to action after the international break.
Bielsa’s side have been hit by several injuries to key first teamers and Saiz is one of the players that may need to come to the fore.
The 27-year-old has been a regular in the starting XI so far this campaign and has been linking up play well, but is still waiting for his first league goal of the season.
He has the technical ability to walk through Championship defences when he is on form and could be a major threat to Millwall, as he picks up spaces between defence and midfield.
