Eberechi Eze showed glimpses of his exciting talent for Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, but must keep working hard.
It is fair to say that Eberechi Eze has learned a lot this season at Queens Park Rangers, but the highly-rated youngster needs to keep improving ahead of the Championship run-in.
With just eight games of the season left, the QPR attacking midfielder looked like he could be rediscovering the form that has seen Leeds United linked with him. But Eze has not been at the races too often since the turn of the year, although he did impress in spells during the weekend draw with Hull City.
Rangers were 2-0 down at half-time but managed to salvage a point, and Eze will want to build on his second-half showing in particular. It is apparent that the academy graduate has been short of confidence and his performances have suffered somewhat.
The Hoops are next up against Bolton Wanderers after the international break, and boss Steve McClaren and his staff will need to keep encouraging Eze and help him find the form he so often demonstrated at the start of the campaign.
It is not just Eze who is in need of a morale boost, Rangers have been abysmal across the park in 2019 but the young prospect has all the skills and natural talent to make it in the Premier League.
It is just a case of getting the best out of Eze but, with time running out this season, QPR’s worsening position highlights the importance of his form.
After the visit of the Trotters, promotion-chasing Norwich City welcome the Rs to Carrow Road and Eze might even find his own starting position in question with another indifferent showing. But the player will need to keep working hard and his confident performances will soon return.
