Tony Adams has told Stadium Astro that Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno may be making him eat his words.
Adams suggested that Arsenal had let go of the wrong keeper, when they sold Emi Martinez to Aston Villa.
However, the £19 million German stopper (BBC Sport) put in a strong display for Arsenal against Leeds United at the weekend.
And Adams admits that he is coming round to the idea of Leno staying at the Emirates Stadium.
“I questioned recruitment. Willian, Pepe – did we need them,” Adams said.
“I questioned the Martinez goalkeeper we let go, instead of Leno. But Leno, he pulled off a fantastic save, so he kind of is making me eat my words a little bit.”
Leno was certainly overworked in Arsenal’s last game, as they drew 0-0 with Leeds.

The Whites racked up 25 shots in the contest, but could not find a way past Leno in the Arsenal net.
Leno has been one of Arsenal’s better performers this term, although Mikel Arteta may feel that his goalkeeper is being tested too often.
Arsenal’s draw with Leeds leaves them in 12th place in the Premier League table, after what has been a disappointing start to the campaign.
