Folarin Balogun has posted on Instagram that it is ‘always an honour’ representing his country after the Arsenal young gun scored for England’s U21s on Friday.
The Hale-End academy product helped England’s U21s record a comprehensive 4-1 win over Andorra during their Euro qualifier.
After the game, the 20-year-old posted footage of his goal, which saw him dart towards the near post following Tino Livramento’s cross, before slotting home.
A number of his teammates, both on the national and domestic stage, praised him in the comments section of his IG post.
Liverpool teenager, Harvey Elliott, who also started the game, simply responded with heart eyes emojis.
Whilst Tyreece John-Jules responded ‘easy’ to his fellow Hale-End academy star.
Noni Madueke, who came through Tottenham’s academy and is now playing for PSV, responded to his teammate with a simple fire emoji.
Balogun is currently out on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough, who are sitting just outside of the play-off places.
The all-action striker has two goals to his name from 12 matches, but things have picked up from the player under Chris Wilder.
The Arsenal man was part of the Boro team that knocked Tottenham out of the FA Cup, although, Chelsea proved to be too good during their quarter-final encounter.
Nonetheless, after dominating in Premier League 2 for far too long, Balogun is now hoping to make a name for himself on the bigger stage and push himself higher up.
