Patrick Bamford is being tipped for a big season at Leeds United.

A lot of Leeds United fans appear to have done a U-turn on Patrick Bamford and tipped him for big things this season.

Bamford perhaps shamed himself and the club toward the end of last season when his theatrics led to Anwar El Ghazi being issued a red card during a fiery clash with Aston Villa at Elland Road.

When you consider the fact that the 25-year-old Leeds striker was also struggling for form, at the worst possible time, you could argue that the perception of him among supporters took a bit of a knock.

As things stand, Bamford is one of only two strikers that Marcelo Bielsa has at his disposal this season – the other being Kemar Roofe – and some fans of the Elland Road club reckon that the former Middlesbrough star is in line for a big season, fitness permitting.

Leeds supporters are right. Bamford, despite his theatrics, can be absolutely lethal for the Whites.

Nine goals in 16 Championship starts last season is quite a decent return and had he not missed four months, he would’ve scored a lot more.

If Bielsa can keep Bamford – a £7 million signing last summer [The Daily Mail] – fit for the whole campaign then it’s a massive boost.
