Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that it is easier to explain his football to central defender Clement Lenglet than to some of the other players.

Conte has noted that since Lenglet has already played for a massive club like Barcelona, he finds it easier to explain his tactics and football to the Tottenham centre-back.

The Tottenham head coach made the comments following the London derby against Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Spurs won the Premier League game 2-1.

Lenglet started the match on the left of a back-three.

The 27-year-old France international centre-back moved to Tottenham on loan from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte on Tottenham Hotspur’s Clement Lenglet

Conte said: “I think Lenglet showed to be a really good player with personality, with quality. When you sign a player from Barcelona for sure he arrives with a big background and for me it’s easier to explain the football to him.”

Good signing for Spurs

In our view, Clement Lenglet is proving to be a very good signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old is at the top of his game at the moment and is making an immediate impact at Spurs already.

As Conte notes, Lenglet has come from Barcelona, which means that he has quality and tactical nous.

After all, to even be considered to play for Barcelona means that you are special.

Tottenham are a better team with Lenglet in it.
