Andros Townsend starred durring Crystal Palace’s 4-1 win over Stoke in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
Crystal Palace fans in full song
Stoke City were clearly second best as Crystal Palace romped to a 4-1 win.
Palace took the lead in the 9th minute when James Tomkins scored from close range after Jonathan Walters had guided Townsend’s free-kick towards the goal.
Two minutes later, Scott Dann doubled the lead with a thunderous header from Jason Puncheon’s corner.

James McArthur added a third with a deflected strike after 71 minutes before Townsend cut inside and scored with an excellent low strike from 20 yards out.
Marko Arnautovic got a consolation for Stoke in added time, but it was far too little and far too late for the Potters who are now languishing in 20th place with just one point from their opening five games.
Townsend’s performance was a joy to behold, causing trouble for the Stoke defence throughout the afternoon’s affairs, while an assist and a goal were just rewards for his showing.
Townsend put in an exquisite finish for Palace’s fourth goal
Palace fans took to Twitter after the game to praise the 25-year-old.
But then again, you can’t please everyone.
This was a timely reminder to English football fans of Townsend’s talents. After bursting on to the scene, he has had a fallow year or two, but performances like this will ingratiate him to the public and to England manager Sam Allardyce.
Crystal Palace are next in action on Wednesday when they visit Southampton in the EFL Cup.
