Claudio Ranieri has signed a new four-year contract to stay in charge of reigning Premier League champions Leicester City.

Leicester City legend Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the deal by poking fun at his response to the Midlands club’s decision to sign “The Tinkerman” in July 2015.
Ranieri’s future was sealed yesterday, and Lineker did not delay in jumping on his chance for a bit of self-deprecation.

Just one year ago, Lineker was a critic of chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s decision to bring in Ranieri after Nigel Pearson had been sacked despite pulling off Leicester’s own version of The Great Escape in a relegation battle.
The Walkers frontman, also England’s third-highest goalscorer, has made a bit of a name for himself for his Twitter use.

Leicester have not had the best start to the 2016/17 season, losing 2-1 in the Community Shield to Manchester United on the weekend.
They open their Premier League campaign in Saturday’s early kick-off at newly-promoted Hull City, and although a miracle mark II may be too much to ask for, they will be looking to cement their new-found position as one of English football’s top dogs.
