Ryan Sessegnon’s 93rd-minute goal salvaged Fulham a point as they drew 1-1 at home to Burton Albion.
Ryan Sessegnon was Fulham’s saviour
The 16-year-old prospect saved the Cottagers’ blushes, as Fulham somehow didn’t win a match that they completely dominated from start to finish, enjoying 71% of the possession and with 20 shots on goal, of which six were on target.
Despite Burton having only seven shots on goal in comparison, they took the lead in the 51st minute when Jackson Irvine guided a right-footed shot into the bottom corner from outside the box.
The home side desperately went in search of an equaliser, and with six minutes of added time awarded, it finally came with 93 minutes on the clock.
Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic will want his side to be more clinical
Wonderkid Sessegnon, who has been the subject of Premier League interest already this year after making his debut for the club in August, is already the toast of the club and will have endeared himself no end to the Fulham faithful.
Whilst they will be glad they were able to take a point from the encounter, it will certainly be viewed more as two points lost for a side with Premier League aspirations.
Fans took to Twitter after the game to vent their frustrations with the result and thank Sessegnon for winning a point at the death, though many are quick not to be too negative over a point won.
Here is a look at a selection of the reaction…
With the Cottagers having lost at home on the weekend against Birmingham, they will be keen to arrest the slide in their home form if they are to challenge for promotion at the business end of the season.
