Bryan Robson has given interviews to Sky Sports News and the Manchester United website giving his opinion on Paul Pogba.

The club website interview with Robson focused on Pogba’s first stay at United which ended in 2012.
Robson gave his opinion on why Pogba left the club for Juventus, saying that it was a lack of first-team football that caused his agent to entertain offers from elsewhere.
He then went on to say that ‘[United] had Giggsy, Scholesy at their peak still.’

Some fans took to Twitter to express their confusion at Robson’s remarks, given that, at the ages of 38 and 37 respectively, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes were not quite at their peak (though they were still pretty good at football).
Robson has spoken at length in the past few days about Pogba.
In an earlier interview with the club website, Robson commented that Pogba was a ‘terrific player’ who had ‘great ability’.

The United legend also made a point about the Red Devils’ standing in the world game, remarking that ‘The type of signings we’ve made this summer show we want to get back there [to the top].’
United’s place in the modern game has been a running theme among power brokers at the club, with manager Jose Mourinho having made remarks that clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool are not able to sign a player of Pogba’s calibre.
With the Pogba saga now concluded, Robson is ebullient about United’s chances for the season and believes they can challenge for the title.

‘When you add the new signings to the players we already had at the club – the youngsters like Martial and Rashford should improve again this season and the top-class international players – it looks a nicely balanced squad at this moment in time,’ he said.
‘Everyone should be quite excited going into the season.’
