Dylan McGeouch joined Sunderland in the summer transfer window.
McGeouch joined Sunderland in the summer transfer window after leaving Scottish Premiership side Hibernian at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 25-year-old midfielder has suggested that he wants to be part of the Black Cats team when thy go back to the Premier League.
McGeouch told The Scottish Sun: “We want to take Sunderland back to the Premier League and the level we should be and I want to help be a part of that. I was at the good times with Hibs and I want more here.”
Long-term future
McGeouch is a good midfielder, and although his performances for Sunderland so far could have been better, he is certainly important player in Jack Ross’s team.
The 25-year-old Scotland international stating that he wants to stay at Sunderland in the long run is certainly a positive for the Black Cats.
There is still a long way to go before Sunderland can start dreaming of playing in the Premier League again.
The Black Cats need to first get promoted from League One, and it is going to be very tough for Sunderland to compete for the Championship playoffs.
Sunderland are fourth in the League One table at the moment with 20 points from 11 matches, seven points behind leaders Portsmouth.
