Dylan McGeouch has told the Edinburgh News that he finds the size of Sunderland unbelievable.

McGeough moved from Hibernian to join Sunderland following Jack Ross’ appointment at the Stadium of Light this summer.

The midfielder has quickly settled in on Wearside, and he admits that he still can’t get over the magnitude of the club he has joined.

“He [Ross] has been great since I’ve been here and I think he can really take my game to the next level,” McGeouch said.

“The size of the club is phenomenal. The stadium, the training ground, the facilities, everything about it is unbelievable.

“I just got that feeling that this was the place I wanted to come and kick on again.

“They’re a club in the same situation as Hibs when I joined, in a place where they probably shouldn’t be considering the size. The manager’s brought in a lot of new players so hopefully we can have the same sort of turnaround we had at Hibs and get it back to where it should be.”

McGeouch is fighting for a place in Ross’ starting line-up at Sunderland, and he has played fairly regularly so far.

The midfielder has already racked up five appearances for the Black Cats, who have made a bright start to the campaign.

Sunderland are still unbeaten, and are already competing up near the top of the League One table.

Ross’ side are next action at the weekend when they take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.
