Charlie Taylor has left Leeds United for Burnley in the summer transfer window.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has told the club’s official website that Charlie Taylor can still develop and improve as a player.

The Clarets recently signed Taylor on a free transfer following his departure from Leeds United at the end of last month.

During his time at Leeds, the 23-year-old had established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Championship.

The former England Under-19 international had been on the books of the West Yorkshire outfit his entire professional career until his recent move to Burnley.

Burnley manager Dyche has praised Taylor, and believes that the Englishman can still grow as a player.

Dyche has also commented on the youngster’s performances for Leeds last season. The left-back started 26 league matches and made substitute appearances in three.

“I still think there’s more to come from Charlie,” Dyche told Burnley’s official website about Taylor. “I still think there’s a lot of growth and a lot of potential in him.

“I think for a player at the younger end of the market he’s played quite a lot of football and done a good job overall at Leeds.

“It was hard for him last season in a team that were flying, then fell away a little bit. He had a lot going on, whether he was staying or moving, but I’m pleased to say that I think he’s a signing that can grow and progress here.”

It must have been hard for Taylor last season with his future uncertain and his contract running out in the summer, but the Englishman did play relatively well and had some good games.

It is not going to be easy for the former Leeds star to adapt to the Premier League, but the 23-year-old has the quality and the calibre to be a success in the English top flight if he is given time and is afforded patience.
