Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle has been in fine form for West Bromwich Albion.

Striker Dwight Gayle has told The Northern Echo that not being able to settle at West Bromwich Albion has been ‘weird’ following his loan move from Newcastle United.
After being in and out of the Newcastle side last season, it became clear that Rafael Benitez didn’t have much use for Gayle anymore, even after a 23-goal campaign in the 2016-17 season.
Gayle, 28, has been billed as a striker too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League, and he unsurprisingly made a move back to the second tier this past summer.
The striker moved to West Bromwich Albion on loan for the season, with the Baggies sending Salomon Rondon to Newcastle in a similar deal as the clubs swapped strikers.
So far, Gayle has been banging the goals in for West Brom, hitting nine goals in 14 Championship games, and he is the key man for Darren Moore’s promotion push.

Gayle is only on loan though, and is scheduled to return to Newcastle unless a permanent deal can be arranged, and he has admitted that the confusion over his future is a problem.
Gayle has now revealed that not being able to unpack or decorate his home has been ‘weird’, and wants more security with his future – and that doesn’t look like being a possibility any time soon.
“I’d like to know where I’m going to be for the next few years, and settle in a bit more,” said Gayle. “I’ve moved in, but I know it’s not my home, and might have to move again in six months. You haven’t decorated it or unpacked everything. It’s a weird one, but at the same time, it’s part of football,” he added.
