Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle has told the Chronicle that he believes their short time together is the reason they are conceding goals just before half time.
The Magpies secured their first win of the season on Wednesday as they beat Reading at St James Park.
The result was a welcome one for Rafa Benitez’s side, who had lost their first two games to Fulham and Huddersfield Town respectively.

What was not welcome was another goal conceded, with Jaap Staam’s side striking just before half time.
That was the third game in a row that Newcastle have conceded at that point in the game, with some blaming a lack of concentration on the strange trait.
Gayle though, believes it is simply a lack of playing time together that is the cause of the issue.
“We are a new team at the moment and we are developing together,” he told the Chronicle.
“I am sure we are going to improve a lot and we are going to make mistakes but we will keep going and improving throughout the season.”

Rafa Benitez will certainly be hoping that this trait of conceding just before half time is not an issue that plagues his side throughout the campaign.
It did not prove to be a problem in this game but should it continue, it may be a hint at a bigger problem than just a lack of playing time together.
