Dick Schreuder missed out on a move to Leeds United earlier this year and will now become Pablo Hernandez’s manager.
Spanish side Castellon have appointed Dick Schreuder as their new manager, months after a move to Leeds United collapsed.
All the focus for Leeds United fans is on who their next manager will be, with Daniel Farke a leading candidate.
2023 has been a mess for Leeds in terms of manager, going from Jesse Marsch to Javi Garcia to Sam Allardyce and now a yet-to-be-named boss.
Other candidates were eyed before landing Gracia with Dutch boss Alfred Schreuder a notable target.
iNews reported in February that a deal for Schreuder to become Leeds boss was close after he was spotted at Elland Road for the game against Manchester United.
De Telegraaf then claimed that Andrea Radrizzani scrapped the move though and that meant no move for Dick Schreuder either.
It was suggested that Alfred wanted to bring his brother Dick – then in charge of PEC Zwolle – to Leeds as his assistant.
The move didn’t happen though and Schreuder has now made a shock move…

Dick Schreuder joins Leeds United favourite Pablo Hernandez at Castellon
Schreuder saw out the season with PEC Zwolle and secured a second-place finish in the Eerste Divisie, guiding them back into the top flight.
The expectation was that Schreuder would start the season at PEC Zwolle but he has instead decided to move on.
Third-tier Spanish side CD Castellon have confirmed the appointment of Schreuder in a quite stunning move.
Castellon missed out on promotion to the second tier last season and are now turning to Schreuder in search of going one step better.

The move means that Schreuder will now become the manager of Leeds United favourite Pablo Hernandez.
Hernandez hails from Castellon and made an emotional return home in 2021, having left their youth ranks back in 2003.
Hernandez has been dreaming of promotion with Castellon but he suffered heartbreak last season – and time is running out at 38 years of age.
In an incredible turn of events, Schreuder has now gone from being lined up for a move to Leeds, to being in charge of Hernandez’s promotion fate next season.
