Arsenal will be looking to retool this summer ahead of another Premier League title push and Mikel Arteta faces some goalkeeping decisions.

The Gunners just missed out on top spot this season, falling two points short of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta will be keen to tweak his squad this summer, all geared towards overhauling City next season.

Arsenal’s goalkeeping situation is somewhat unclear right now with David Raya hoping that his loan move turns permanent this summer.

That deal is likely to happen, but would surely mean Aaron Ramsdale moves on to chase first-team action elsewhere.

HITC understands that Newcastle United are interested in offering Ramsdale an escape route from the Emirates Stadium.

If Ramsdale does go, Arsenal would need another goalkeeper to come in and the Gunners will surely have targets in mind.

Justin Bijlow on Arsenal and Liverpool

Arsenal may look far and wide and the Eredivisie market may be appealing.

The Gunners signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax last summer and have been scouting his brother, Feyenoord ace Quinten Timber.

Another Feyenoord ace has now been asked about potentially signing for Arsenal.

Goalkeeper Justin Bijlow remains one of the top goalkeepers in the Netherlands despite an injury-hit campaign.

Wrist and calf problems limited Bijlow to just 17 league appearances this season as Feyenoord missed out on the Eredivisie title.

Bijlow has now been asked about a potential move to Arsenal or maybe even following Feyenoord boss Arne Slot to Liverpool.

The Dutch international told Voetbalzone that Arsenal and Liverpool are both ‘very nice clubs’ and he is flattered to be mentioned in the conversation along those sides.

Bijlow admitted that he is ‘ambitious’ but will give everything to Feyenoord and nailing down a spot in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.

“Those are two very nice clubs. Of course it is always nice to be mentioned at big clubs. What I’m just saying: I’m ambitious. As long as I play for Feyenoord I will give everything and first I just want to focus on the Dutch team,” said Bijlow.

Following Slot to Liverpool may make sense in that Slot knows all about Bijlow’s game and that familiarity could be appealing.

Caoimhin Kelleher could leave this summer with Celtic interested and Liverpool may need another goalkeeper to replace the Irishman.

Bijlow may fit the bill but his ambitious nature means that he will need to think carefully about his next move.

Sitting behind Raya or Alisson may not help Bijlow advance his career and being stuck on the bench could impact his international hopes.

Bijlow could be a name on the Arsenal and Liverpool radars but whether they present the right opportunities for him remains to be seen.
