Leeds have made a bid for NEC striker Jay-Roy Grot.
The Holland under-21 international is a first team player for NEC Nijmegen.
Dutch outlet Gerlanderlander reports that amid Leeds’ bid, Grot is likely to move, reporting, “The departure of Jay-Roy Grot from NEC seems to be coming.”
Grot has only one year remaining on his contract at NEC, putting the club under pressure to sell.
For now though NEC are not snapping Leeds’ hand off.
NEC reportedly have offers on the table from ‘several clubs’, although Leeds are the only side mentioned in the report.
The Whites have already turned to Holland once this transfer window in the transfer market, buying Mateusz Klich for £1.5 million from FC Twente.
Leeds are keen to get a deal over the line quickly due to Wood’s sale and Caleb Ekuban’s minor injury.
Grot has five goals in 10 games for Holland at under-21 level, although his first team record for NEC is more modest.
The 19-year-old netted six times in 35 games for the Dutch club last season.
