Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau were among the most high-profile names to make the switch from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf back in 2022.
While DeChambeau has enjoyed far more success than Johnson in the majors since then, including a US Open title in 2024, he’s also one of the few players who seems to have improved since joining the Saudi-backed league.
Following Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour, there have been reports that DeChambeau is seeking $500 million from LIV Golf to extend his contract.
It remains unclear whether LIV Golf, backed by PIF, will meet those demands.
Johnson, on the other hand, looks set to stay with LIV for some time yet.
The American believes his game is moving in a positive direction and hopes that form will translate into results over the coming months.
The question now is whether DeChambeau will still be alongside him on LIV Golf.
Dustin Johnson weighs in on Bryson DeChambeau’s PGA Tour return

Johnson and DeChambeau are both prominent figures in LIV Golf, so it is likely that the 2020 Masters champion has a decent read on where the two-time major winner stands at the moment.
Speaking to Today’s Golfer, Johnson was asked if he believes that DeChambeau will stay with LIV.
“Bryson obviously brings big crowds and he’s got a lot of fans. I can’t speak for him. I don’t see him going anywhere. I think he’s happy and he really likes LIV.
“But you need to talk to him on that one. As far as I know, he’s very happy, and he’s really enjoying playing on LIV,” the 41-year-old stated.
LIV fans will be hoping DJ is right about that.
Given his status as one of the league’s biggest stars, it would be hard to imagine LIV without Bryson involved.
Would Dustin Johnson like to play any PGA Tour events?
Right now, it looks like Johnson is quite content playing in LIV.
But if there ever were a merger between the two tours, would he make an appearance at any PGA Tour events?
When asked about the possibility of playing on the PGA Tour again, Johnson did not rule it out entirely.
“I’m happy playing right where I’m at. Would I play a couple events on tour? Sure, there are a few events that I like.
“But I like playing LIV and I like playing around the world and I’m very happy playing right where I’m at. It’s only getting better. We’re going to continue to grow, and the fields keep getting better, too.”
A merger between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour still feels far off. And with Johnson enjoying his current situation, it does not look like he is planning a switch anytime soon.
