Journalist Enzo Bucchioni has suggested that Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur have an advantage over Juventus in the race for Dusan Vlahovic, as quoted on Firenze Viola.

What’s the story?

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Tottenham and Juventus are the two main competitors for the Fiorentina striker.

Spurs have an advantage due to two major factors.

Bucchioni, who is a well-respected Italian journalist, has pointed out that Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici knows the 21-year-old striker well.

The Italian offiicial wanted to sign the Serbia international when he was at Juventus.

The other reason is that Tottenham are ready to invest in a new striker.

Harry Kane could reportedly leave, which means that Spurs simply have to bring in a replacement striker.

Coup for Tottenham Hotspur

It would be a coup for Tottenham if they are able to sign Vlahovic ahead of Juventus.

Yes, Juventus did not win Serie A last season, but they remain arguably the biggest club in Italy.

The Bianconeri had won the Scudetti for the previous nine years and will play in the Champions League yet again next season.

Tottenham will not even play in the Europa League next season and are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title.

If Spurs are able to sign Vlahovic, then it would show the pulling power of Paratici.

The Serbian is a very talented and promising young striker who “will be the best striker of the next few years with Erling Haaland”, according to his compatriot Stevan Jovetic, as quoted in Football Italia in June 2021.

Borussia Dortmund striker Halland is one of the best young players in world football at the moment, and Vlahovic is his contemporary.

Vlahovic scored 21 goals and gave three assists in Serie A last season.
