Rangers allowed Graham Dorrans to leave Ibrox earlier this month.
Dundee boss James McPake has told The Scottish Sun that he is waiting for ex-Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans to give him an answer about a move to Dens Park.
Rangers handed Dorrans his dream move to Ibrox in the summer of 2017, luring him from Norwich City having been a boyhood Gers fan.
However, the dream move has ended up being something of a nightmare, having struggled with injuries throughout his time with just 23 appearances to his name.
The 32-year-old hasn’t played a single first-team game since September 2018, meaning it’s been almost a year since he’s even kicked a ball in anger.
Rangers chose to pay up Dorrans’ contract on September 2nd, making him a free agent inside the transfer window, meaning he can now find a new club.
Dundee have been pursuing Dorrans in the hope that he will drop down to the Scottish Championship, but he has yet to give them an answer.
Dundee boss McPake has admitted that he thinks Dorrans will be worth the wait, branding Dorrans a ‘top player’, but knows he has to make the best decision for his family.
“There has been nothing since the end of last week,” said McPake. “I am sure he will make a decision pretty quickly on where he wants to go. He will weigh up his options and he has options all over the place, really.”
“He has a young family, so he will decide where he feels is best for him and them. Is he worth waiting for? Absolutely. He’s a top player. More than that, I like him as a person and I like what he brings to football clubs. I know him very well. I will wait on a phone call and he will tell me what he’s thinking and then where he is going,” he added.
