Sunderland will go in search of back-to-back Premier League wins this weekend when they take on Hull City at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland’s Duncan Watmore
Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore has urged the Black Cats to use the momentum generated from their win over Bournemouth prior to the international break to their advantage, he told the official Sunderland website.
The Black Cats recorded their first win of the season at Dean Court prior to the international break but remain bottom of the Premier League having taken just five points.
But Watmore is hoping they can build on that win when they take on fellow strugglers Hull City at the Stadium of Light this weekend as they look to move off the bottom.
He told safc.com: “Momentum is massive in football – you’ve got to use it when you can.
“We’ve got that and we want to take that into Hull.
“Winning gives you confidence. We’re not in a good position at all, we know that, but we can rectify that.”

Back-to-back wins would certainly do wonders for the confidence of David Moyes’s side, and it would make their situation look a little healthier even if it would still be perilous.
They could move to within two points of their opponents, and if results go their way, three points from safety. However, if they were to lose the game against the Tigers, it could knock the stuffing out of the side and any sort of optimism would be lost ahead of a daunting looking trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool the following weekend.
The importance of this weekend’s game is huge. A win means a path to safety is there for all to see but otherwise it looks as if the side could be in a very sticky situation.
