Former Aberdeen striker Duncan Shearer seems to rate Celtic-owned Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Christie highly.

Christie has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Inverness Caledonian Thistle for a transfer fee reported by The Scotsman to be worth £600,000.
The 23-year-old midfielder is a very talented and promising player, but the Scotland international has struggled to make an impact at Celtic Park.
The Scotsman is on loan at Aberdeen at the moment, having also had a loan spell at the Pittodrie Stadium during the second half of last season.
Former Aberdeen and Scotland international striker Shearer has suggested that Christie is good enough to play in England, stating that he would like to see him test himself in English football.

Shearer told The Daily Record: “I’m really looking forward to watching his career over the next couple of years to see which path it takes, whether it be at Parkhead or not.
“The way Brendan is talking about it, it does seem that he will be going back and getting an opportunity and I would love to see him kick on and be a big part of that side.
“In fact if I’m honest I would like to see him go down and have a crack at England at some point.
“It’s not that I want to be taking players away from Aberdeen or the Scottish game, if we’re talking about Celtic, but I really believe this boy can go quite far.”

Next season key
For Christie to have a long-term future, next season will be key for him, especially after the progress he has made at Aberdeen this term.
The 23-year-old midfielder has scored four goals and provided 10 assists in 26 Scottish Premiership appearances for Aberdeen so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
If Christie is unable to establish himself in the Celtic first team next season, then he should seriously consider leaving the Glasgow giants for good.
