Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has claimed that he’s been told that Leicester City believe that Demarai Gray will be signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
The winger is in the final year of his contract and it’s been heavily speculated that he could be leaving the King Power Stadium in the near future.
Castles says that Leicester believe he will go to north London, but the journalist reckons it’s not quite a done deal yet.
“I’m told that at Leciester they believe that he will be moving to Tottenham Hotspur,” Castles said (The Transfer Window podcast 24:00).
“My understanding is that there is an interest from Tottenham, but that is not a guaranteed deal, he has interest from other Premier League clubs, there is also significant interest from overseas.
“A decision will be made as to where the best opportunity to develop his career is going forward once he’s in a position to properly talk to the clubs.”

This could be an absolute coup for Spurs.
The winger has long-been touted as a player with a lot of potential, but for one reason or another he’s not been able to realise it.
Tottenham will be able to sign Gray for a cut-price fee due to his current contract situation, and if he can hit the heights expected of him, this could end up being an absolute bargain.
However, this does leave a number of questions about Spurs’ existing wingers.
Tottenham are already stacked on the wings with the likes of Gareth Bale, Steven Bergwijn, Heung-min Son, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura all capable of playing out wide, and that’s before we even mention Ryan Sessegnon who is currently out on loan.
That’s a bridge that will Spurs will have to cross if Gray signs.
