The future of Everton ace Muhamed Besic is set to come under the spotlight in the coming days and manager Marco Silva may be on the brink of his first mistake.

Championship club Middlesbrough could reportedly speed up their interest in the Toffees midfielder this week after he thrived on loan with them last season, but there is a reason he looked a cut above most in England’s second tier.

Boro manager Tony Pulis is looking to make up to four new signings this week and the Toffees ace is firmly on his radar as he prepares to ramp up interest, according to TEAMtalk.

Boro are looking to build a side for promotion next season and have already seen Besic make a positive impact in their side in the centre of the park.

The Merseyside club are not looking to loan out the 25-year-old again and would prefer to sell him for a price of £12million, according to the Northern Echo.

However, Besic’s potential departure this summer could turn out to be a blunder by Everton and it may be worth keeping him around under Silva.

He is a combative central midfielder who should soon be entering the peak years of his career and has proved himself at Goodiosn Park in the past.

The Bosnia international is a destroyer that can do the defensive side of the game, while he can also pick a pass and would add some extra steel to the Everton ranks.

His luck with injuries has been poor so far during his career, but there is definitely a quality player there and getting rid this summer may come back to bite the club.
