Wolves will be filling an important hole in their squad if they win the race to sign reported target Miguel Veloso.

According to TEAMtalk, the West Midlands club and Everton are both interested in landing the 32-year-old midfielder, who is currently a free agent.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo should go all out to try bring him to Molineux, as he would provide a great option for them in the Premier League this season.

Veloso is a 56-time capped Portugal international that has great pedigree and would join a strong Portuguese contingent if he made the switch to Wolves, something that would help a switch to England.

He is a defensive midfielder that has great experience of European football by playing for Sporting Lisbon, Dynamo Kyiv and most recently Italian club Genoa.

Veloso would help fill a gap in the Wolves squad, as they could do with an extra option in the centre of the park.

Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are the two central midfielders in pole position to start most weeks for Wolves, while there is also 18-year-old rising star Morgan Gibbs-White as an option.

Veloso could add a fourth option to the midfield to give Nuno a strong squad, while the versatile duo of Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss are both capable of slotting in at either defence or midfield.

Wolves’ opening two Premier League games against Everton and Leicester have seen them pick up just a point, highlighting how difficult the top flight of English football is, despite all the hype surrounding the club this season.
