West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini should avoid combining Issa Diop with reported target Domagoj Vida at centre-back.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has gone about improving his back line this summer with some defensive signings, but he is reportedly not stopping just yet.
Centre-back Issa Diop, right-back Ryan Fredericks and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski have all arrived at the London Stadium, which is no surprise given the fact the Hammers had the joint-worse defensive record in the Premier League last season.
According to Sabah, West Ham have submitted a £20million bid to sign Besiktas and Croatia centre-back Domagoj Vida.
The 29-year-old powerhouse enjoyed a stunning World Cup after helping his nation finish runners-up, which has allegedly attracted interest from the Hammers, Liverpool and Everton.
There is potential for him to be a success if he linked up with West Ham, but Pellegrini must avoid combining him alongside new signing Diop at centre-back.

Neither Vida nor Diop have any experience of Premier League football, which is why throwing them in at the deep end together could be a calamity.
The likes of Angelo Ogbonna, Winston Reid and Declan Rice are strong centre-back options already in the Hammers squad that need to be considered.
Diop, 21, is a highly-rated talent who has arrived from the French league and could do with a partner alongside him that is used to the English game.
