The Hammers splashed out £22million to sign the centre-back in the summer from French club Toulouse, who he captained in Ligue 1 last season.
However, the 21-year-old has been on the bench in the opening two games of the Premier League season and is having to be patient for his opportunity.
Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna have had the nod as the centre-back partnership so far, but leaked a combined total of six goals in defeats to Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.
