Some Southampton fans have given a thumbs up to their reported interest in striker Moussa Marega.
Southampton are reportedly interested in Porto centre-forward Moussa Marega – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe he would be a brilliant signing for them.
According to the Mirror, the Saints are joined by Premier League counterparts Everton and West Ham in the chase for the 27-year-old.
West Ham held talks with Portuguese club Porto about a £22million deal for Marega and look to be the front-runners as it stands, according to the Mail last week.
Marega is a powerhouse attacker who was in brilliant form for Porto last season, scoring 23 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
The Mali international has great pace and strength, something that could see him be a real success if he made the switch to the Premier League.
He has proven himself to be prolific in the Portuguese top flight, but there have been previous examples such as Islam Slimani to show that success in that league doesn’t guarantee an easy ride in England.
However, a selection of Saints fans are convinced that Marega is the type of player that could light up St Mary’s and improve their current attacking options, but they would face a tought fight to get him.
