Three reasons why Everton should press ahead with their reported loan move for defender Kurt Zouma.

Everton are reportedly in the hunt to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan.
According to the Mirror, the Toffees are targeting the 23-year-old on a season-long loan and manager Marco Silva is looking to bring in a defender to bolster his squad.
The report details that the Merseyside club have turned to the Frenchman after previously holding talks with Barcelona’s Yerry Mina and Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
Chelsea centre-back Zouma did spent last season out on loan with Stoke City in the Premier League and was unable to prevent their relegation, while his first-team chances look very slim at Stamford Bridge going into the new campaign.
Zouma may have been part of a struggling Stoke side last season, but he is someone that could be a hit at Goodison Park.
Here are three reasons why signing Zouma on loan would be a great piece of business for Everton:

Fix major problem area
It is no secret that Everton’s centre-back options look extremely light right now and they need to bring in a fresh face as soon as possible..
Phil Jagielka, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate represent the only senior options for the heart of defence, which should be a major concern for Silva.
Zouma would provide decent competition in the Toffees back line and plug a huge gap in the squad.
Huge potential
Zouma is remarkably still just 23 and does have the potential to become a top-class defender in years to come.
The centre-back has not quite been the same since a serious knee injury back in 2016, but at the time he was part of the Chelsea XI and being tipped for big things.
He has all the traits of a modern-day defender with pace and power; something that can see him dominate strikers when he is on form.
Goodison Park could be a great platform for him to get back to his best and there is every chance he would improve Everton’s starting line up, too.
Premier League experience
There would be very little risk in Everton’s reported loan move for Zouma, as he has shown he was made for the style of English football.
He was one of the more consistent performers for Stoke and, if he hits the ground running at Everton, he would become a fan favourite.
The transfer window is rapidly closing in on Silva and the addition of proven talent Zouma would make sense.
