Steven Gerrard has raved about the quality of Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack after his Europa League performance.

Steven Gerrard heaped huge praise onto Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack after his performance in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday night.
The Light Blues drew 1-1 at Ibrox against Croatian outfit NK Osijek to progress from the second qualifying round 2-1 on aggregate.
Jack has played a crucial role so far this season under the new manager and the Scottish giants face Maribor in the next European qualifying round, with a place in the Europa League group stages in sight.
Gerrard highlighted the central midfielder for his own individual display against Osijek and raved about his efforts.
“I thought Ryan Jack was absolutely stunning. I thought it was a stunning performance,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“I think in Scotland you call it the number four role, in England it’s the number six, whatever it is absolutely stunning performance from him.”

The jury was definitely still out on Jack in the summer after a mediocre first year with Rangers last season, where an injury did halt his progress in the latter months.
However, he looks rejuvenated since Gerrard’s arrival and is beginning to nail down his spot in the starting XI in the centre of the park.
The ex-Aberdeen midfielder has a brilliant range of passing and can help screen the back four, while he allows the side’s attacking players to flourish.
Jack, 26, should be entering the peak years of his career and the early signs are that he will be a big player at Ibrox this season.
