Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has praised his goalkeeper Andre Moreira after his debut against Yeovil Town.

Manager Steve Bruce praised goalkeeper Andre Moreira after he made his Aston Villa debut on Tuesday night and admitted he now has a selection dilemma ahead of him.
The 22-year-old helped his side defeat League Two opposition Yeovil Town 1-0 with a vital penalty save, while midfielder Conor Hourihane scored a late winner for the visitors.
Moreira will hope he can obtain the number one jersey following his arrival at the Midlands club on loan from Atletico Madrid and had an eventful first outing in the cup.
The Portuguese shot-stopper will have to get past both Orjan Nyland if he is to become the club’s number one option in the Championship.
Villa travel to Ipswich Town at the weekend in their next league match and it will be intriguing to see who Bruce starts in goal after raving about Moreira’s debut in English football.
“He’s done very well to save the penalty on his first showing. That was good to see,” Bruce said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“The more he plays here in England, the better he’ll get.
“Now I’ve got real stiff competition for the number one spot. We brought in two goalkeepers, which I thought was the right thing to do.”

Moreira has had very little first-team football so far in his career and will be hoping that he can become a success at Villa.
He did have a taste of top-flight football in Portugal last season out on loan and is a 6ft 4in colossus that has a physical presence in between the sticks.
