Some Everton fans are furious with reported interest in their goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Chelsea.
Chelsea have reportedly made goalkeeper Jordan Pickford their main target if Thibaut Courtois leaves this summer, and some of the Everton fans on Twitter have voiced their concern about the speculation.
According to Sky Sports on their live transfer blog (1:00pm, 27 July), Courtois is expected to leave for Real Madrid this summer and, as a result, Chelsea will allegedly turn their attention to the Toffees shot-stopper.
It is understood that Pickford, 23, is the preferred candidate for Chelsea ahead of both Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland.
The report adds that Everton are likely to resist any approach for their goalkeeper and that he is still under contract at Goodison Park for another four years.
Pickford has seen his reputation rise rapidly after a brilliant World Cup this summer for England, where he helped them to a fourth-placed finish.
He has proved that he is an excellent shot-stopper and also very good with the ball at his feet; something that allows him to play out from the back comfortably.
Pickford is expected to be a key man for Marco Silva’s side this season, but it appears Chelsea could test their resolve if they are forced to look for a new goalkeeper.
