James Morrison’s West Brom contract had ended following their relegation from the Premier League.
West Brom will reportedly re-sign Scotland international James Morrison on Friday morning.
According to Sky Sports on their transfer centre blog, the 32-year-old is set to sign for the Baggies within hours.
The report adds that the midfielder will pen a one-year deal with the option of a second with the West Midlands club.
Morrison saw his contract with West Brom expire at the end of the last season and he’s been training with the club throughout the summer, but he now looks set to extend his stay.
The central midfielder missed the majority of the last campaign through injury and saw his side relegated from the Premier League.
Morrison could now be back in contention as Darren Moore’s side prepare for a long gruelling season in the Championship.
The Scotsman has been with West Brom since 2007 and been involved in two promotions before, with his experience surely vital ahead of the new season.
West Brom begin their new season with a home match against Bolton Wanderers at the Hawthorns and are one of the teams that are expected to be competing at the top end of the league.
