Sheffield United are reportedly in talks to sign Middlesbrough’s Marvin Johnson on loan.

Sheffield United have reportedly opened talks with Middlesbrough to sign winger Marvin Johnson on loan.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blades are in discussions to capture the winger, who has also been on the radar of Birmingham City.
The report explains that United manager Chris Wilder is keen to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old, with the transfer window set to close on Friday.
According to the Sheffield Star (16 August), Johnson emerged on the radar of Sheffield United earlier in the summer window.
Johnson has not featured in any of Boro’s five opening league games this season, as his side sit second in the Championship table unbeaten.
The left-winger did chip in with an assist during an EFL Cup win over Notts County, but he’s mainly been on the fringes at the Riverside since he joined from Oxford United in 2017.

Johnson has previously impressed during spells with Oxford and Motherwell in Scotland, but is yet to really prove himself at Championship level.
Wilder is looking to bring the wide man to Bramall Lane to boost his side’s promising start to the season, with the club currently just outside the play-offs.
