Newcastle United have rejected West Ham’s bid for defender Jamaal Lascelles.

Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles is reportedly a man in-demand this summer, as West Ham have made an approach to sign him.
It is reported that the 24-year-old is not for sale at Newcastle this summer and is back in pre-season training, but Everton are also named as interested parties.
Lascelles was a colossal part of Newcastle’s impressive return to the Premier League last season and helped them finish 10th, which is why interest from two big clubs is no surprise.
He is a commanding defender that is strong in the air and his leadership qualities have made him an ever-present in Rafael Benitez’s side during the last two years.

Lascelles has quickly become a firm favourite at Newcastle since he joined in 2014 and his loan spell at Nottingham Forest helped him develop significantly.
He has been linked with a senior call-up for England in the future, but for now will be watching at home when Gareth Southgate’s side face Croatia in the World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
