Liverpool have reportedly begun the process of handing attacker Sadio Mane a new contract at Anfield.

According to the Telegraph, the Reds have opened talks with the 26-year-old about signing a new longer deal and an agreement is likely to be a formality.

The report claims that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to secure the future of another key player and talks are underway for the Senegal international.

Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Roberto FIrmino have both signed new five-year deals recently, with the Merseyside club looking to build a strong squad.

Mane is considered a key player after two brilliant years with Liverpool and last season he scored 20 goals in all competitions.

Mane is a left winger with incredible pace and trickery, while he also found his range in front of goal in the last campaign.

He scored an incredible 10 goals in the Champions League and is part of a frightening attacking trio.

Liverpool have already enjoyed a brilliant summer by making some high-profile additions in the shape of Alisson Becker, Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho.

However, they are also tying down the futures of their main stars and many of the Kop feel they could end their trophy drought in the upcoming season.
