Hull City have reportedly made a loan offer to sign Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick.

Championship club Hull City have reportedly made a move to try to sign Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick on loan.
According to Sky Sports on their transfer centre blog (1:25pm, 30 August), the Tigers have made contact with Villa about signing the 30-year-old on a season-long loan.
The report adds that QPR have also submitted an offer for the centre-back and that a number of other clubs are monitoring his situation.
It is understood that the Midlands giants are prepared to let the defender leave this summer and it will up to the player to decide where he moves.
Elphick has been in the first-team so far this season for Villa, making three appearances across all competitions, which included a goal in a league victory over Hull City.
He has come back into the fold after a loan spell at Reading in the second half of last season, but it appears he could depart once again on a temporary basis.

Steve Bruce is not blessed with a wealth of centre-back options in his squad with James Chester, Mile Jedinak and Axel Tuanzebe competing with Elphick.
However, Villa look set to sign Le Havre centre-back Harold Moukoudi on loan with an obligation buy, according to Sky Sports on their transfer centre blog (10:40am, 30 August).
That would at least make a little more sense for Villa to offload Elphick, but he is a proven Championship ace who could make a positive impact at Hull.
