Fleetwood Town are reportedly in advanced talks with Sheffield United about signing their striker Ched Evans on loan.

Sheffield Untied could reportedly loan out centre-forward Ched Evans to League One club Fleetwood Town.
Fleetwood are in “advanced talks” to sign the 29-year-old on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports on their transfer centre blog (12:02pm, 17 July).
United manager Chris Wilder believes that the striker could benefit from a loan away from Bramall Lane and Joey Barton’s Fleetwood are trying to secure a deal to take him on a temporary basis.
The ex-Wales international struggled to make a serious impact last season and failed to score in any of his 13 appearances for the Blades.
He looks unlikely to play a part in the Championship next season for the Blades and dropping down a division to try rediscover his best form could be a smart decision for him.

Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke are two of the attacking options ahead of Evans in the pecking order at Sheffield United, which is why a stint with Fleetwood looks on the cards with talks ongoing.
Barton is taking the reigns at Fleetwood for his first job in management and will need a decent overhaul of his squad to turn his side into promotion candidates in League One.
