Derby County may have to sell Leeds United target Matej Vydra before signing Martyn Waghorn.

Leeds United may reportedly have received a boost in their attempt to land Derby Country centre-forward Matej Vydra this summer.
Championship side Derby want to sign Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn for an initial £4million, but that deal may only progress once they offload Vydra due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, according to Sky Sports in their transfer centre blog (3:33pm, 25 July).
The report adds that the Rams want to move on Vydra and that they have a “broad agreement” in place with Leeds, but the player is still yet to settle on personal terms with talks ongoing.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier this month, the Whites had cooled interest for Vydra after talks had broken down.
However, the latest report suggests Leeds are back in the hunt for the 26-year-old and they may have some leverage in trying to bring him to Elland Road after much speculation.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side desperately needs some extra attacking ammunition going into the new campaign and the Derby attacker managed 22 goals in all competitions last season.

Frank Lampard’s Derby are chasing Waghorn this summer and have also agreed a fee for striker Jack Marriott from Peterborough Town, which is why seeing one attacker go through the exit doors makes sense.
Leeds supporters are crying out for a new goalscorer to fill the gap that Chris Wood left when he departed last summer and Vydra would definitely fit the bill as someone who knows the Championship inside out.
